Photoshop - Shadow +Highlight work, and slight curves adjustment. Also sharpened a bit.

Lens - Sigma 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye

*(Wide Angle Conversion made in CS3: Filter/Distort/LensCorrection/+50 Distortion.)

Got Kicks?

Well, Manny certainly does. Not only are the shoes in the photo part of his collection. All in all manny has an oustanding 50+ pair of Nike SB's, Classics, Blazers, Dunks, etc.
Shot this photo last night around 2:00 a.m.
Thanks to Weather.com (partially) we didn't get rained out.
Lit with (2) Lumedyne heads. Both to camera left, the one closest to me had a shoot through, white, umbrella above manny pointing down at him. The 2nd head was a couple feet farther to the left, used to light each pair of dunks. This light was equipped with a DIY grid spot light modifier. The final shot is composed of 5 or so shots, allowing me to highlight each pair of shoes.

Oh yeah, I have a blog...

So I have not been good with keeping this updated, but thats going to change.
Ahh the procrastinator in me...
I've been shooting for Portfolio class as well as my own enjoyment lately.
Using the Lumedyne's as well as natural light, since the 2nd charger I got stopped working.
But I get a new one tomorrow and I have a shoot planned with Manny alongside a few of his kicks
.
Thanks for looking at this. Enjoy

This shot was taken with all natural light, in the clubhouse of the abandon mobile home park
which was at one time engulfed in flames. However there was a beautiful shaft of light coming
through the corner of a wall and the ceiling which is godly...

Lit with a 800 w/s Lumedyne head to camera right with a 1/2 diffuser at 50 w/s I believe.
I love the emotion on her face, however my teacher didn't think it was a strong portfolio piece.
I Just love how you stare right into her eyes, as if she's telling you something, anyhoo.

Lit with 2 Lumedyne heads, placed at camera left. One with a homemade gridspot directed at Manny's head,
while the other is lighting the rest of his body as well as the foreground a bit.

Intersection of Ringling and 301/N. Washington | Sarasota, Fla. | July, 2008

Shot with the Sigma 15mm f/2.8 and then de-fished in CS3. Then the security busted us, and didn't hold back his thoughts about we should be shooting girls in bikinis or something of that nature...

Thats it for now, new stuff soon.

My dog ate my photos.

My dog didn't really eat them, but thats my excuse for my long period un-productivity.

I'm beginning my portfolio work this week, along with the new lights I have purchased. So expect to see some new stuff.

enjoy.

Alex Sams - Drop to Bank

Alex Sams | Valrico, Fla. | Roof stall to Mute to Bank | May, 2008

This shot has a story behind it. Alex and I had been scoping out this spot for a while, wondering how we could get on the roof of the verizon building located just off a main florida state road. We found an entrance by the front and had to walk around to get to the bank. It's amazing how much more friendly people are when you have a lost dog rather than skates and a bunch of camera equipemnt. Anyways the dog story worked and we searched the spot for a landing strip of wood. Had to go across the street and steal some from some shop. Had to hop over that barbed wire fence a few times to adjust the lighting. Some nearby gas station loiterers were scoping us, so we had to watch out for them. But mission accomplished in the end.
